16 of the 63 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba are identified in the capital

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, July 12, 63 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 106 thousand 553.

414 remain hospitalized and 197 suspects.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 45 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 97 thousand 740 (99.2%) recovered patients. 217 active cases were confirmed, 216 of them with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 16 cases were identified, 14 autochthonous and two imported. Cases were reported in eight of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

For COVID-19, 2,247 samples were studied, resulting in 63 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 991 thousand 295 samples carried out and one million 106 thousand 553 positives.

Of the 63 confirmed, 42 were contacts of confirmed cases, 14 with a source of infection abroad, and 7 unspecified.

Of the feminine sex 39, and of the masculine 24. In the Intensive Cares a patient is treated in serious condition.

Six (9.5%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,135, which represents 13.3%.

The 63 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 24; from 20 to 39, 22; from 40 to 59, 2; and 60 and over, 15 cases.

Until this July 12, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.13% of the world, and 1.67% of the Americas.
