17 of the 38 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba are notified in the capital

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, July 8, 38 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 106 thousand 365.

378 remain hospitalized and 192 suspects.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 37 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 97 thousand 591 (99.2%) recovered patients. 186 active cases were confirmed, of which 184 (98.9%) with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 17 cases were identified, 16 autochthonous and 1 imported. Cases were reported in eight of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

Havana Center – 1

Parrot –3

October Tenth –2

Guanabacoa –1

Revolution Square –2

San Miguel del Padrón –2

For COVID-19, 2,079 samples were studied, resulting in 38 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 982 thousand 953 samples carried out and one million 106 thousand 365 positives.

Of the 38 confirmed cases, 34 were contacts of confirmed cases, 1 with a source of infection abroad, and 3 without specifying.

Of the female sex 19, and of the male 19. In the Intensive Care, 2 confirmed patients are cared for, one of them critical, and one serious.

 7 (18.4%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,114, which represents 13.3%.

The 38 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 17; from 20 to 39, 12; from 40 to 59, 5; and 60 and over, 4 cases.

Until this July 8, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.14% of the world, and 1.68% of the Americas.
