International Meeting of Tales for an Ancient City will be held in the Historic Center of Havana

With the presence of storytellers from different countries, the 11th edition of the International Meeting Tales for an Ancient City will take place from July 13 to 18 in the streets of the Historic Center of Havana.

The event, dedicated to Dr. Eusebio Leal Spengler, will be characterized by bringing unique and attractive stories to squares and parks, especially aimed at girls and boys from the communities.

A report from the Prensa Latina Agency states that the director of this initiative, Osvaldo Manuel Pérez, stated that the literary event will pay tribute to the outstanding actor and narrator Daniel Alberto Hernández, who was one of the defenders of the idea of ​​honoring storytellers and minstrels who went from town to town telling stories.

In the contest, the Arte de Contar prize will be recognized for outstanding personalities in the promotion of reading, the use of scenic narration for social transformation and the formation of values.

As part of the program of the meeting on Saturday, July 16, in the portals of the Rubén Martínez Villena Provincial Public Library there will be a presentation of storytellers, reading of books with stories aimed mainly at infants, with the aim of promoting reading.

Every year, Tales for an Ancient City is held, an event that was born from the efforts of the eternal Historian of Havana and the creativity of the Teatro de la Word group, a member of the International Storytelling Network that brings together more than a thousand storytellers from 57 countries. .
