The capital registers 22 of the 36 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, July 4, 36 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 106 thousand 203.

368 remain hospitalized and 190 suspects.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 25 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 97 thousand 437 (99.2%) recovered patients. 178 active cases were confirmed, of which 175 (98.3%) with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 22 cases were identified, 20 autochthonous and 2 imported. Cases were reported in ten of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

Eastern Havana – 2

San Miguel del Padrón – 2

Mariano– 2

Havana Center – 1

Lisa– 1

For COVID-19, 1,600 samples were studied, resulting in 36 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 973 thousand 459 samples carried out and one million 106 thousand 203 positives.

Of the 36 confirmed cases, 30 were contacts of confirmed cases, 4 with a source of infection abroad, and 2 without specifying.

22 were female, and 14 were male. 3 confirmed patients are cared for in Intensive Care, two of them critical, and one serious.

4 (11.1%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,083, which represents 13.3%.

The 36 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 21; from 20 to 39, 11; from 40 to 59, 2; and 60 and over, 2 cases.

Until this July 3, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.15% of the world, and 1.69% of the Americas.
