14 of the 42 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba detected in the capital

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, July 1, 42 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 106 thousand 087.

348 remain hospitalized and 223 suspects.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 36 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 97 thousand 374 (99.2%) recovered patients. 125 active cases were confirmed, 123 of them with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 14 cases were identified, 9 autochthonous and 5 imported. Cases were reported in 11 of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

For COVID-19, 2,302 samples were studied, resulting in 42 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 967 thousand 156 samples carried out and one million 106 thousand 087 positives.

Of the 42 confirmed cases, 18 were contacts of confirmed cases, 21 with a source of infection abroad, and 3 without specifying.

Of the female sex 22, and of the male 20. In the Intensive Care, 2 confirmed patients are cared for, one of them critical, and the other serious.

12 (28.6%) asymptomatic cases are reported, accumulating a total of 147,071, which represents 13.3%.

The 42 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 14; from 20 to 39, 15; from 40 to 59, 5; and 60 and over, 8 cases.

Until this July 1, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.15% of the world, and 1.69% of the Americas.
