The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, June 17, 22 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 729.

832 remain hospitalized; 698 suspects, and 44 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 29 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 97 thousand 051 (99.2%) recovered patients. 90 active cases were confirmed, all with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 6 cases were identified, 3 autochthonous and two imported. Cases were reported in five of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

Guanabacoa – 1

Eastern Havana – 1

Beach – 1

Revolution Square – 1

For COVID-19, 3,453 samples were studied, resulting in 22 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 934 thousand 020 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 729 positives.

Of the 22 confirmed, 14 were contacts of confirmed cases, 6 with a source of infection abroad and 2 not specified.

31.8% (7) cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 147,020, which represents 13.3%.

The 22 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 8; from 20 to 39, 8; from 40 to 59, 3, and from 60 and over, 3 cases.

As of June 17, Cuba reports a fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.17% of the world, and 1.71% of the Americas.
