Cuba's contribution to Ecuador's educational plan highlighted

Within the framework of the second day of the II Science and Education Congress that will take place in Havana until Friday the 17th, the director of the Ecuadorian Network of Pedagogy, Josué Habacuc Villagómez, gave a special recognition to the head of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Cuba (Mined), Dr. C. Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella, for the valuable contribution of Cuba in the training of masters in that South American country.

Prensa Latina reports that after delivering a diploma to the minister, Habacuc Villagómez said: "Cuban teachers have allowed us to fulfill goals and dreams that came from years ago."

The academic thanked the opportunity to make the first online master's programs a reality, which were exported to Ecuador from Cuba.

We had to overcome many obstacles, we knew that, but by joining wills the two teams were able to do it, highlighted Habacuc.

"For the first edition of the master's degree in Education -he specified- we had planned an enrollment of 30 students and finally there were 95, such a figure exceeded all expectations, something that motivated us and at the same time challenged us".

"This is how they build great ideas and projects," said the pedagogue.

He explained that later a second edition of the master's program was added, which also reached a significant number of participants, and motivated them to expand the academic program, and include Special Education. He also commented that after these two milestones of collaboration that are part of the history of Cuban education, they establish conversations with other institutions in the country to publicize this experience materialized with the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences (ICCP).

Habacuc stressed that last February they signed an agreement that includes the realization of doctoral programs and opens the enormous possibility of cooperation between two sister countries.

The director of the Ecuadorian Pedagogical Network congratulated the Cuban teachers for their extraordinary work in their territory and thanked them for the help they provide for the growth of the Latin American region.

With the participation of more than 1,600 professionals from 13 countries, the II International Congress of Sciences and Education, meets in the capital in a hybrid way (virtual and face-to-face), and promotes the exchange between professionals from different areas of knowledge and teachers on the role of science in meeting global goals, expressed in the 17 sustainable development goals.

Founded in 1976, the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences attached to the Mined, has teachers with more than 30 years of experience. One of its missions is to guarantee the training of Masters and Doctors, the socialization of the results that reinforce the links between the national and international, and the permanent training of Latin American educators for the consolidation of a Latin American and Caribbean cultural identity. Among its achievements, the training of more than 4,650 graduates in Masters in Education and Educational Sciences stands out, and a doctoral program in Educational Sciences with 557 graduates.
