From the capital 7 of the 29 new positives to Covid-19 in Cuba

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, June 8, 29 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 546.

950 remain hospitalized; 823 suspects, and 34 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 43 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 96 thousand 865 (99.2%) recovered patients. 93 active cases were confirmed, 91 of them with stable clinical course.

In Havana, 7 cases were identified, of which 7 autochthonous and one imported. Cases were reported in six of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

October Tenth – 1

Eastern Havana – 2

Marianao – 1

Beach – 1

Revolution Square – 1

For COVID-19, 4,223 samples were studied, resulting in 29 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 900 thousand 621 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 546 positives.

Of the 29 confirmed cases, 23 were contacts of confirmed cases, 3 with a source of infection abroad and 3 with an unspecified source.

Of the feminine sex 15, and of the masculine 14. Two patients are reported as critical.

13.8% (4) cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,998, which represents 13.3%.

The 29 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 11; from 20 to 39, 8; from 40 to 59 years old, 3, and from 60 and over, 7 cases.

As of June 8, Cuba reports a fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.18% of the world, and 1.73% of the Americas.
