The Minister of Public Health of Cuba, José Ángel Portal today congratulated the nursing staff of the Caribbean island, who daily demonstrate their altruistic sense, responsibility and dedication.

“In homage to the birth of Victoria Brú Sánchez, every June 3 we commemorate Cuban Nursing Day. Our recognition goes to all the nursing staff of our country, a fundamental pillar of Cuban public health. We count on you! Portal wrote on his Twitter social network account.

Recently, in a brief message posted on the portfolio's website, Portal highlighted the importance of his role in the sector's communities and facilities.

"Nurses and nurses play an essential role in building resilient health systems," said the headline.

"Throughout the world, and without neglecting other health services, they were on the front line of the battle against Covid-19 and have been the soul of vaccination to prevent this and other diseases," Portal argued.
