7 of the 29 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba are identified in the capital

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the end of the day yesterday, June 1, 29 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 389.

One thousand 167 remain hospitalized; 969 suspects, and 28 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 36 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 96 thousand 631 (99.2%) recovered patients. 170 active cases were confirmed, of which 167 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 7 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in six of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

• Boyeros – 1

• Parrot – 1

• Guanabacoa – 1

• Beach – 2

• Revolution Square – 1

• San Miguel del Padrón – 1

For COVID-19, 5,000 or 42 samples were studied, resulting in 29 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 874 thousand 155 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 389 positives.

Of those confirmed, 25 were contacts of confirmed cases, and 4 with a source of infection abroad.

Of the feminine sex 20, and of the masculine 9. In the intensive therapies 3 patients remain, of which 2 reported of serious and 1 critical.

13.8% (4) of the 29 positives were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,974, which represents 13.3%.

The 29 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 16; from 20 to 39.5; from 40 to 59 years old 3, and from 60 and over, 5 cases.

As of June 1, Cuba reports a fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.18% of the world, and 1.74% of the Americas.
