The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, May 31, 41 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 360.

One thousand 177 remain hospitalized; 988 suspects, and 33 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 40 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 96 thousand 595 (99.2%) recovered patients. 177 active cases were confirmed, of which 174 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 7 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in six of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

• Orange Creek – 2

• Hill – 1

• Guanabacoa – 1

• Eastern Havana – 1

• Old Havana – 1

•   Rule 1

For COVID-19, 4,342 samples were studied, resulting in 41 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 869 thousand 113 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 360 positives.

Of those confirmed, 36 were contacts of confirmed cases, and 5 with a source of infection abroad.

Of the feminine sex 26, and of the masculine 15. In the intensive therapies, 3 patients reported to be in serious condition remain.

20.7% (6) of the 29 positives were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,965, which represents 13.3%.

The 41 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 14; from 20 to 39, 10; from 40 to 59 years old 6, and from 60 and over, 11 cases.

Until this May 31, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.19% of the world, and 1.74% of the Americas.
