7 of the 32 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba are identified in the capital

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, May 29, 32 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 290.

One thousand 248 remain hospitalized; 1,021 suspects, and 35 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 36 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 96 thousand 510 (99.2%) recovered patients. 192 active cases were confirmed, of which 188 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 7 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in six of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

• Orange Creek – 1

• Hill – 1

• Eastern Havana – 1

• Revolution Square – 1

•   Rule 1

• San Miguel del Padrón – 1

For COVID-19, 4,412 samples were studied, resulting in 32 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 861 thousand 533 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 290 positives.

Of those confirmed, 31 were contacts of confirmed cases, and 1 with an unspecified source of infection.

Of the feminine sex 12, and of the masculine 20. In the intensive therapies, 4 patients reported to be in serious condition remain.

There were no asymptomatic positives, accumulating a total of 146,959, which represents 13.3%.

The 32 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 16; from 20 to 39, 2; from 40 to 59 years old 5, and from 60 and over, 9 cases.

Until this May 29, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.19% of the world, and 1.74% of the Americas.
