Havana registers 4 of the 45 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, May 26, 45 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 181.

One thousand 336 remain hospitalized; 1,066 suspects, and 30 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 51 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 96 thousand 387 (99.2%) recovered patients. 206 active cases were confirmed, of which 203 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 4 cases were identified, two autochthonous and one imported. Cases were reported in only three of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

• Beach – 1

• Revolution Square – 3

For COVID-19, 4,947 samples were studied, resulting in 45 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 847 thousand 078 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 181 positives.

Of those confirmed, 37 were contacts of confirmed cases, 2 with a source of infection abroad, and 6 with an unspecified source.

Of the feminine sex 23, and of the masculine 22. In the intensive therapies there are three patients reported as serious.

11.1% (5) of the 45 positives were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,948, which represents 13.3%.

The 45 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 18; from 20 to 39, 12; from 40 to 59 years old 6, and from 60 and over, 9 cases.

Until this May 26, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.19% of the world, and 1.75% of the Americas.
