The capital notifies 6 of the 31 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, May 23, 31 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 047 8% positivity.

1,395 remain hospitalized; 1,133 suspects, and 21 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 55 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 96 thousand 218 (99.2%) recovered patients. 241 active cases were confirmed, of which 240 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 5 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in four of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

• Orange Creek – 1

• October Tenth – 3

• October Tenth – 3

• Lisa –1

• Mariano – 1

For COVID-19, 3,273 samples were studied, resulting in 31 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 832 thousand 248 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 047 (8%) positive.

Of those confirmed, 25 were contacts of confirmed cases, 6 with an unspecified source of infection.

Of the feminine sex 15, and of the masculine 16. In the intensive therapies they remain 1 patient reported of serious.

9.7% (3) of the 31 positives were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,934, which represents 13.3%.

The 31 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 15; from 20 to 39, 8; from 40 to 59 years old 3, and from 60 and over, 5 cases.

Until this May 23, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.19% of the world, and 1.75% of the Americas.
