Diagnosed in Havana 3 of the 37 new positives to Covid-19 in Cuba

The official part of the Ministry of Public Health reports that at the close of yesterday, May 22, 37 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of one million 105 thousand 016 8% positivity.

1,487 remain hospitalized; 1,200 suspects, and 22 under surveillance.

To date, 8 thousand 529 deaths have been reported (none of the day) and 46 medical discharges were given (of the day), accumulating one million 96 thousand 163 (99.2%) recovered patients. 265 active cases were confirmed, of which 262 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 3 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were reported in only three of the 15 capital municipalities, with the following distribution:

• Orange Creek – 1

• Havana Center – 1

• Eastern Havana – 1

For COVID-19, 4,693 samples were studied, resulting in 37 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 828 thousand 975 samples carried out and one million 105 thousand 016 (8%) positive.

Of those confirmed, 35 were contacts of confirmed cases, 1 with a source of infection abroad, and 1 with an unspecified source.

Of the feminine sex 20, and of the masculine 17. In the intensive therapies 3 patients remain, of them 2 critical and 1 serious.

8.1% (3) of the 37 positives were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,931, which represents 13.3%.

The 37 diagnosed belong to the age groups: under 20 years old, 17; from 20 to 39, 12; from 40 to 59 years old, 4, and from 60 and over, 4 cases.

Until this May 22, Cuba reports a case fatality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.19% of the world, and 1.75% of the Americas.
