Havana anniversaries. May 10.

1908.  The first issue of Bohemia Magazine is published in Havana. It is currently the oldest publication in Cuba. During its years of existence, it has contributed to reflect the Cuban and world reality. It has also contributed to the development of culture in general through the publication of dissimilar and varied works.

Bohemia has counted with the collaboration of relevant national figures that with their materials and signatures have enriched the history and significance of this publication.

2004. The Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura was created in Havana.

This institution sponsored by the Office of the Historian of Havana is dedicated to the cultural promotion, in all artistic manifestations, of Cuban and Hispano-American works.

The center directs its line of work towards the exaltation of the values of Cuban culture, formed in the heritage of other cultures, such as the Iberian and African. This culture, understood as the most important legacy of our Hispanic-American filiation, is inspired by the Institución Hispano Cubana de Cultura, founded by the polygrapher Fernando Ortiz in 1926.
