Solidarity to the relatives of the victims of the Saratoga Hotel accident continues to be expressed

The First Secretary of the Party of Havana, Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, indicated that all support, solidarity and love must continue to be offered to the relatives of the victims, the missing and the injured who are in hospitals after the fatal accident that occurred last Friday at the Saratoga Hotel.

During the meeting of the Temporary Working Group in Havana on Sunday, there was an exchange with the cadres leading the actions that are being carried out, according to Tribuna de La Habana.

To this end, the damages and the schedule for the recovery of properties were determined, while the 14 families of the missing persons expressed their gratitude for the attention received.

The Governor of the city, Reinaldo García Zapata ratified that they are being attended with all the requirements in the Central Computer Palace, located very close to the hotel.

He thanked the authorities of Havana, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) and the Fire Brigade for permanently providing information on the progress of the rescue and rescue work.

As for the medical report, Dr. Emilio Delgado Iznaga, provincial director of Health, said that Legal Medicine reported 30 deaths (16 men and 14 women), of whom four were children and one woman was pregnant.

Twenty-four injured remain hospitalized; seven patients in critical condition and the same number in serious condition are being treated in the therapy units.

Meanwhile, 13 patients were discharged, including 10 minors who were hospitalized at the Juan Manuel Márquez Pediatric Hospital.

Perla Rosales, Deputy Director of the Office of the Historian of the City, said that the damage to three of the four buildings of heritage value had already been assessed.

The most damaged are the Martí Theater which, according to preliminary estimates, could be rehabilitated in September, and the Baptist Church.

The Yoruba Religious Cultural Center and the Capitol suffered minor damages; the latter could be recovered in June, he said.
