There are 30 of 155 new Covid-19 positives in Cuba diagnosed in the capital city

Dr. Francisco Durán García, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, informed at a press conference that at the end of yesterday, May 1, 155 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,103,286.

A total of 2,870 cases remain in hospital; 2,022 are suspected and 26 are under surveillance.

To date, 8,527 deaths have been reported (none during the day) and 271 medical discharges (during the day), with a total of 1,93,878 (99.1%) patients recovered. A total of 822 active cases were confirmed, of which 814 (99%) with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 30 cases were identified, 28 autochthonous and two imported. Cases were identified in 13 of the 15 Havana municipalities, with the following distribution:

- Arroyo Naranjo - 2

- Boyeros - 1

- Cerro - 1

- Cotorro - 1

- Diez de Octubre - 4

- Guanabacoa - 3

- East Havana - 3

- Old Havana - 2

- La Lisa - 3

- Beach - 4

- Revolution Square - 4

- San Miguel del Padrón - 1

For COVID-19, 5 thousand 591 samples were studied, resulting in 155 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 719 thousand 748 samples taken and 1 million 103 thousand 286 positive.

Of those confirmed, 147 were contacts of confirmed cases, 4 with a source of infection abroad and 4 with an unspecified source of infection.

There were 92 females and 63 males. 8 patients were in intensive care, 3 of them critical and 5 serious.

Of the 155 positive patients, 5.2 % (8) were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 146,829, which represents 13.3 %.

Of the 151 diagnosed belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age, 63; from 20 to 39, 25; from 40 to 59 years of age, 24; and from 60 and over, 43 cases.

As of May 1, Cuba reports a lethality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.22% in the world and 1.78% in the Americas.
