Cuba and China signed projects against the draught and for the fabric acquisition.

Two major projects carried out with the backup of donations made by the Chinese government to Cuba, were signed this week at the seat of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment(MINCEX), was announced by the organism on its web site.

The strengthening of the fight against the draught and sewage is the first of the action displayed by both countries in a joint effort, which rises 129 000 000Renmimbi, equivalents to 19 000 800 dollars. This initiative will contribute to enhance the sewage services and to make wider the resilience of the hydraulic sector before draught situations in Cuban soil, making a positive impact in the Cuban population.

The second project´s goal is the acquisition of fabric for the manufacture of school uniforms and work clothing, for a value estimated in 76 000 000 Renminbi, equivalents to 11 000 7000 dollars.

Thanks to this endeavor, the educational Cuban system will count on the necessary raw material for the manufacturing of the school uniforms for the beginning of the new school year, to commence next November 2022 as well as the raw material for work clothing destined to several sectors of the economy.

The supplies should arrive to the country in the last quarter of this year, indicated the MINCEX, which highlighted the impact both actions will have on the island.

The Cuban authorities, in the context of the agreement signing, re-stated the thankfulness to the Chinese authorities for the governmental help provided to the island.

Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez, President of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources(INRH); Deborah Rivas Saavedra, deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment and the economic and commercial counselor of the Chinese Embassy attended to the ceremony. Members of the board of MINCEX and the INRH, directives of the Light Industry Group and the Cuban companies Cubahidráulica and BK Import/Export as well as functionaries of the Chinese Embassy in Havana also participated at the ceremony.
