Havana Notifies 42 of the 245 new Covid-19 positives in Cuba

The official report of the Ministry of Public Health informs that at the end of yesterday, April 23, 245 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,101,731.

A total of 4,083 cases remain in hospital; 2,796 are suspected and 41 are under surveillance.

To date, 8,525 deaths have been reported (none during the day) and 310 medical discharges (during the day), accumulating 1,91,901 (99.1%) recovered patients. One thousand 301 active cases were confirmed, of which one thousand 280 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 42 cases were identified, 40 autochthonous and two imported. Cases were identified in 13 of the 15 Havana municipalities, with the following distribution:

- Arroyo Naranjo - 11

- Boyeros - 3

-Centro Habana  - 1

- Cerro - 6

- Diez de Octubre - 1

- Guanabacoa - 1

- Habana del Este  - 2

- Habana Vieja - 1

- La Lisa - 6

- Marianao - 3

- Playa - 2

- Plaza de la Revolución  - 4

- Regla - 1

- San Miguel del Padrón - 1

For COVID-19, 7,827 samples were studied, resulting in 245 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 667 thousand 311 samples taken and one million 101 thousand 731 (99.1%) positive.

Of the confirmed cases, 232 were contacts of confirmed cases, 6 with a source of infection abroad and 7 with an unspecified source of infection.

There were 135 females and 110 males. 21 patients were in intensive care, of whom 11 were critical and 10 serious.

Of the 245 positive patients, 6.1 % (15) were asymptomatic, totaling 146,709, which represents 13.3 %.

Of the 245 diagnosed belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age, 94; from 20 to 39, 45; from 40 to 59 years of age, 39; and from 60 and over, 67 cases.

As of April 23, Cuba reports a lethality rate of 0.77% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.23% in the world and 1.78% in the Americas.
