42 of the 329 new positive reported cases of Covid- 19 are from La Habana

The Ministry of Health´s web site informed that at the end of yesterday, April 20th,329 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 1 100 938.

4520 patients remain in hospital admission,3092 suspicious and 48 under medical surveillance.

To date, 8522 deaths by coronavirus (none belonging to the day) have been reported, and 1380 active cases of which 1356 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 326(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 1 090 977(99.1%) medical or epidemiological discharges.

42 cases were identified in the capital, 40 of them native and 2 imported. 14 of the 15 municipalities in Havana reported cases.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Habana del Este and Boyeros(6), Playa and La Lisa (5), Cerro,Diez de Octubre(4),Plaza de la Revolución(3), Arroyo Naranjo, and San Miguel del Padrón(2), Centro Habana, Regla, Habana Vieja and Guanabacoa(1).

7999 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 329 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 13 644 173 analyzed samples of which 1 100 938 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,310 people were contacts of confirmed cases,15 with source of infection from abroad and 4 with unknown source of infection.

There were 173 female and 156 male cases. 24 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 14 critical and 10 seriously ill. 

8.8%(29) of the 329 confirmed cases were asymptomatic, accumulating 146 666 cases which represents the 13,3%.

Of the 329 confirmed cases, 123 were under 20 years of age; 60 between 20 and 39; 56 between 40 and 59 and 90, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in April 20th , 2022 is 0.77% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 1.22% for the world and the 1.78 % for the Americas region.
