Chess Matches Yilmaz-Luis Ernesto; Ortiz-Niemann; Mareco-Almeida; Durarbayli-Albornoz and Ganguly-Yasser are schedulled for this Wednesday. In the female division the following matches will take place: Yuleisy-Arribas; Ordaz-Luján; Kiobalsa-Miranda; Forgas – Cori and Ineymig-Bulmaga.

The first games of the 55th edition of the Capablanca  in Memoriam Tournament will began this Tuesday at the National Hotel.

 The Argentinean Sandro Mareco, the peruvian Deysi Cori and the Rumanian Irina Bulmaga won in the Elite division against Carlos Daniel Albornoz, Oliwia Kiolbasa and Yaniela Forgas, respectivelly.

Mareco, with the highest ELO score of the Elite division, defeated Albornoz with the black tiles.

Great Masters Vasif Durarbayli(Azerbaiyan), Surya Ganguly(India), Hans Niemann(The United States) and Mustafa Yilmaz(Turkey) are the main attractions of the event.

In statements to Gramma, Rodeney Pérez, coach of the Cuban male team expressed,¨This is a good time for the Southamerican, after having won the Iberoamerican Tournament and the International Tournament of Mexico, but Albornoz placed himself in a very good position. In my opinión, after having analyzed the game, I got the feeling that he made a blunder(serious mistake). He got a good g4 in some point, he omitted it and with that , positioned himself in a very delicate situation ; leverage that was taken by his oponent. A defeat is always painfull, but the tournament is long and we need to be ready for what is coming¨.

Meanwhile, the national champion Yasser Quesada debuted with table against Vasif Durarbayli, from Azerhbajan. Surya Ganguly, from India, also debuted with table against the turkish Mustafa Yilmaz and Cuba just like Cubans Isán Ortiz and Omar Almeida against the American Hans Niemann.

In the Premier league, both Cori and Bulmaga won with the White . Duels between Ineymig Hernández  and Yuleisy Hernández, Yerisbel Miranda and Lisandra Ordaz and Maritza Arribas against the Argentinean Carolina Luján , ended  in a draw

Matches Yilmas –Luis Ernesto; Ortiz –Niemann; Mareco-Almeida; Durarbayli-Albornoz and Ganguly –Yasser are schedulled for the second round. Among females, Yuleisy-Arribas; Ordaz-Luján; Kiolbasa –Miranda; Forgas-Cori and Ineymig-Bulmaga will face off.
