Mexican short films at the International Book Fair of Havana.

A selection of Mexican short films highlights in the program of the 30th International Book Fair of Havana, which begins this Wednesday and will last till April 30th, in the capital.

The Fair, with more than 276 guests from 32 countries where illustrators, poets, storytellers and some other professionals of the sector are included, has invited Mexico as Guest of Honor.

According to what was referred, the Multicine Infanta will develop a program of films to be exhibited, inserted in the Book Fair ´s schedule that will last until April 24th   with the projection of the short film Franco, directed by Mariana Martínez as an opening for the exhibit.

The production of the 16 years old filmmaker tells the story of two photo-reporters with different point of views that witness the violent repression suffered by a young in a political event.

The program embraces, the film Bingo (2014), of the novel author Andrés Borda, who presents a story about the life of a group of bingo players elders, particularly focused on one of them, who gets obsessed with the game.

Leopoldo Aguilar Guerrero´s ¨Tetas para matar¨(2011); Rafael Ruiz Espejo´s ¨Primavera¨(2016); Gerard Mates´ ¨Que veran los dragones en chicas como yo?¨and Diana Aguilar Cabello´s ¨La sibera¨, complete the election made for this April 20th´s presentation.

The literary date, that will be extended for 10 days, has among their guests, the Mexican bolero singer Eugenia León and the National Theater Company of Mexico who get to the stages the play Desazón.

Cecilia Salcedo´s photographic exhibition¨La espina y el fruto¨and the 80 pictures exhibit reflecting the friendship between Cuba and Mexico and the 120 years of the establishment of the relations between both countries highlights among the visual arts proposals, reported Prensa Latina News Agency.
