The literary event that will pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Carilda Oliver Labra and Jesús Orta Ruiz (el Indio Naborí), and the 120th anniversary of the birth of Nicolás Guillén, is just a few days away from materializing.

The 30th Havana International Book Fair will be joined by the Icaic Editions program, which includes the presentation of seven new literary novelties (printed) and its catalog of digital publications (23 E-books and 10 audiobooks). The publishing house will also emphasize the promotion and marketing of titles published by two Mexican authors (Carlos Antonio Aguirre Rojas and Dulce Isabel Aguirre); author Luis Álvarez Álvarez and Norberto Codina (National Publishing Award 2021), in accordance with the Fair's general call for entries.

In addition to the usual book presentations, Ediciones Icaic is scheduled to participate in the Cuba Digital project of the Cubaliteraria publishing house; the call for a contest in homage to one of the most outstanding authors in its catalog.

On Monday, April 25, at 1:00 p.m., in the José Antonio Portuondo Hall of the Palacio del Segundo Cabo, the title Cien años de cine en Cuba (1897-1997), by Ambrosio Fornet, will be presented, paying tribute to this author, who recently passed away on April 5.

On April 27, at 11:00 a.m., in the same José Antonio Portuondo hall, the title Sergio Corrieri, más allá de "memorias..." (Sergio Corrieri, beyond "memories..."), by Luisa Marisy.

Likewise, El cine tiende sus redes. Relación de la pantalla grande con otras artes, by José Alberto Lezcano, will be presented on Wednesday, April 27, at 11:00 am.

Meanwhile, La historia en un sobre amarillo. El cine en Cuba (1948-1964), by Iván Giroud, will be presented on Thursday, April 28, at 2:00 p.m., at Uneac's Rubén Martínez Villena Hall.

Cuando el beisbol se parece al cine, by Norberto Codina, will be presented on Friday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m., at the Dulce María Loynaz Cultural Center.

This institution will also host the launching of two volumes on Friday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m.: La hoja y el cuerno, by Arturo Arango; and Verdad y mentira en el cine. El sentido de lo falso en F forfake (1873), by OrsonWelles, by Dulce Isabel Aguirre Barrera. 

Among other activities planned by Ediciones Icaic are the E-books and Audiobooks Catalog of Ediciones Icaic, on Friday, April 22, at 4:00 p.m., at the Central Computer Palace, and the Panel "Audiobooks in Cuba: an alternative for reading", on Thursday, April 28, at 11:00 a.m., at the same institution.

On this occasion, the event will welcome the United Mexican States as guest of honor, and will commemorate the 140th anniversary of the publication of the poem Ismaelillo, by José Martí and the novel Cecilia Valdés o la Loma del Ángel, by Cirilo Villaverde. It will also honor authors Luis Álvarez Álvarez and Alberto Prieto Pozos, as well as the National Prizes awarded by the Cuban Book Institute in 2021 (Julio Travieso Serrano, José Luis Rodríguez Travieso and Norberto Codina).
