The capital notifies 65 of the 603 new Covid-19 positives in Cuba.

The official report of the Ministry of Public Health informs that at the end of yesterday, April 8, 603 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,96,837 (8.1%).

A total of 6,889 cases remain in hospital; 4,067 are suspected and 52 are under surveillance.

To date, 8,518 deaths have been reported (one per day) and 584 medical discharges (per day), accumulating a total of 1,85,490 (99%) recovered patients. A total of 2,770 active cases were confirmed, of which 2,737 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 65 cases were identified, all autochthonous. Cases were identified in 14 of the 15 Havana municipalities, with the following distribution:

- Arroyo Naranjo - 5

- Boyeros - 7

- Centro Habana  - 1

- Cerro - 4

- Cotorro - 6

- Diez de Octubre - 6

- Guanabacoa - 2

- Habana del Este - 8

- Habana Vieja- 1

- La Lisa - 7

- Marianao - 9

- Playa - 3

- Regla - 3

- San Miguel del Padrón - 1

For COVID-19, 10,589 samples were studied, resulting in 603 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 554 thousand 750 samples taken and one million 96 thousand 837 positive.

Of the confirmed cases, 578 were contacts of confirmed cases, 5 with source of infection abroad, and 20 with unspecified source of infection.

There were 340 females and 263 males. 33 patients were in intensive care, of whom 8 were critical and 25 serious.

Of the 603 positive patients, 5.1 % (31) were asymptomatic, totaling 146,400, which represents 13.3 %.

Of the 603 diagnosed belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age, 218; from 20 to 39, 134; from 40 to 59 years of age, 110; and from 60 and over, 141 cases.

As of April 9, Cuba reports a lethality rate of 0.78% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.25% in the world and 1.79% in the Americas.
