
Meet the winners of the San Remo Music Awards Cuba 2022
The last stage of this contest took place this Saturday in which five prizes were awarded. First place went to Duo Iris, from Havana, with the song Cauce. Third place was shared by Saheed, from the capital, with Arráncame la voz and Dailys, also from Havana, with the song Quiero ser el mismo (I want to be the same).
The last stage of the San Remo Music Awards took place this Saturday night at the Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater of Cuba with the participation of 16 young contestants from nine provinces of the country.
Granma reports that five prizes were awarded in the contest. First place went to Dúo Iris, from Havana, with the song Cauce. Second place went to Alejandro, from Mayabeque, with the song Píntame; while third place was shared by Saheed, from Havana, with Arráncame la voz and Dailys, from Havana with the song Quiero ser el mismo.
The jury in charge of selecting these winners, with maestro Joaquín Betancourt, National Music Award winner, was made up of Haila María Mompie, Waldo Mendoza, David Torrens and Jorge Robaina, on the Cuban side, who were joined on this last day by Jorge Gómez, director of the Moncada group. On the foreign side, Flavio Ferrari, director of operations of the SRMA brand; Nicola Convertino, artist and businessman who created this franchise, and singer-songwriter Riccardo Cocciante, offered their verdict on the young contestants.
The critics' award went to Aníbal Ramos, from Cienfuegos, with the song Mi mejor canción, for its authenticity, good taste and refinement. Those in charge of granting this award were Pedro de la Hoz, Yuris Nórido, Neris González Bello, Joaquín Quintero and Ignacio Cruz Ortega. The jury also recognized Camila Daniela for being a young singer-songwriter, something that the Cuban music scene needs today.

The audience award went -with more than nine thousand votes- to Anamarian, from Pinar del Río, who defended the song Sálvame, and received the award from Riccardo Cocciante.
On this special night, the audience and those who enjoyed the gala through Clave channel, could enjoy the performances of Sonia Matzza, Sara Scognamiglio and Rosella Zitiello, winners of other editions of the San Remo Music Awards.
In addition, the Diva of the people, Haila María Mompié and Sucel starred in a tribute to Raffaella Carrá.
Cuba, land of talented musicians, is the first Latin American country to host this cultural festival that aims to strengthen cultural ties between both nations and will close this Sunday night at the Hotel Nacional, which has served as the main venue.
