The capital registers 66 of the 609 new positives for Covid-19 in Cuba.

The official report of the Ministry of Public Health informs that at the end of yesterday, April 8, 609 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,96,234 (8.1%). A total of 7,026 cases remain in hospital; 4,241 are suspected and 33 are under surveillance. To date, 8,517 deaths have been reported (none during the day) and 702 medical discharges (during the day), accumulating a total of 1,84,906 (99%) recovered patients. A total of 2,752 active cases were confirmed, of which 2,724 with stable clinical evolution. In Havana, 66 cases were identified, of which 62 were autochthonous and four imported. Cases were identified in 12 of Havana's 15 municipalities, with the following distribution: - Arroyo Naranjo - 6 - Boyeros - 8 - Havana Center - 2 - Cerro - 5 - Diez de Octubre - 8 - Guanabacoa - 4 - East Havana - 8 - Old Havana - 1 - La Lisa - 5 - Beach - 8 - Revolution Square - 8 - San Miguel del Padrón - 3 For COVID-19, 11,291 samples were studied, resulting in 654 positive samples. The country accumulates 13 million 520 thousand 813 samples taken and 1 million 96 thousand 234 positive. Of the confirmed cases, 592 were contacts of confirmed cases, 7 with a source of infection abroad and 10 with an unspecified source of infection. There were 335 females and 274 males. 28 patients were in intensive care, of whom 8 were critical and 20 serious. Of the 592 positive patients, 2.6% (22) were asymptomatic, making a total of 146,369, representing 13.3%. Of the 609 diagnosed belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age, 216; from 20 to 39, 134; from 40 to 59 years of age, 107; and from 60 and over, 152 cases. As of April 8, Cuba reports a lethality rate of 0.78% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.25% in the world and 1.79% in the Americas.
