The International Meeting of Ballet Academies will take place in Havana next Tuesday with a special tribute to master Ramona de Saá Bello.

Radio Metropolitana reported that the event propiciates a common space to share knowledge and revences the  work of professor Ramona, considered one of the most remarkable pedagogues in the dance art and educator of several generations of dancers in Cuba.

To the event, summoned by  National School of Ballet¨Fernando Alonso¨belonging to the National Center of Arts Schools in Cuba, may participate ballet students in the juvenile, intermediate and advanced categories. As a novelty, the contest will have , for the first time, a category for small children.

Specialists, profesors, students and dancers of the world will gather in the Wonder City to set strategies that might enhance the technical and the conceptual rigour of the dancers´ education, share experiences in workshops and present shows for the national audience.

An opening gala at Marti Theater , dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the creation of the National School of Art and a great catwalk at Paseo del Prado will take place, as part of the event, among other activities.
