1906.   Enrique Arredondo is born in Havana.

From the time of his youth he first worked in various trades. Already from 1923 he began to act in several theater companies, with which he toured Cuba on countless occasions. He was part of that generation of popular artists who, self-taught and thanks to his talent, triumphed on the stage and in his case also in radio and television programs. In 1934 he had been hired to play the character of Negrito at the famous Alhambra Theater. He came to be considered one of the best interpreters of this type of character. As the years went by, he formed companies with other figures and in 1940 he created his own stage group. He was a follower of Arquímedes Pous, who was his idol, together with Alicia Rico and Candita Quintana. His natural grace and that polished craft, to which his high values as a human being were added, opened the hearts of the public.

He died in Havana on November 15, 1988.

He was born in the neighborhood of La Víbora in the Cuban capital on February 28, 1918.

At the age of 17 he began his life in journalism in his native town. From 1954 onwards, in addition to his work in the press, he directed several television programs. He was a contributor to several magazines. He participated in the clandestine struggle against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. After the triumph of the Revolution he was the founder of the Cuban revolutionary diplomacy. He was the last Cuban ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS). He served as ambassador of the Cuban archipelago to the Office of the United Nations and Specialized Institutions with headquarters in Switzerland.
