50 of the 621 new Covid-19 positives in Cuba diagnosed in the capital city

The official report of the Ministry of Public Health informs that at the end of yesterday, March 28, 621 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 1,88,638 (8.1%).

A total of 8,400 cases remain in hospital; 4,588 are suspected and 25 are under surveillance.

To date, 8,510 deaths have been reported (none during the day) and 852 medical discharges (during the day), accumulating a total of 1,76,282 (98.9%) recovered patients. A total of 3,787 active cases were confirmed, of which 3,763 with stable clinical evolution.

In Havana, 50 cases were identified, of which 49 are autochthonous and one imported. Cases were identified in 12 of Havana's 15 municipalities, with the following distribution:

- Arroyo Naranjo - 3

- Boyeros - 5

- Centro Habana - 4

- Cerro- 3

- Cotorro - 3

- Diez de Octubre - 4

- Guanabacoa - 1

- Habana del Este - 5

- La Lisa - 7

- Playa - 7

- Plaza de la Revolución - 5

- San Miguel del Padrón - 3

For COVID-19, 8,310 samples were studied, resulting in 621 positive samples (7.5%). The country accumulates 13 million 416 thousand 669 samples taken and 1 million 88 thousand 638 positive (8.1%).

Of the confirmed cases, 609 were contacts of confirmed cases, 7 with a source of infection abroad, and 5 with an unspecified source of infection.

There were 360 females and 261 males. 24 patients were in intensive care, of whom 6 were critical and 18 serious.

Of the 621 positive patients, 3.4% (21) were asymptomatic, making a total of 146,002, representing 13.4%. Of the 621 diagnosed belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age, 181; from 20 to 39, 131; from 40 to 59 years of age, 154; and from 60 and over, 155 cases.

As of March 28, Cuba reports a lethality rate of 0.78% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 1.27% in the world and 1.79% in the Americas.
