First Local Development Fair begins in Havana.

The First Havana Local Development Fair opens its doors this Monday at the Expocuba fairgrounds.

The event is organized by the Government of the capital and will gather a good part of the economic actors of the territory until April 3,  with the aim of generating exchange among them.

A report by the Cuban News Agency (ACN) states that the event, a pioneer of its kind in the province, will allow the launching of products and services that Havana's enterprises and other forms of management have, in order to strengthen cooperation with domestic and foreign companies.

Local Development Projects, new forms of non-state and state management, cooperatives and self-employed workers will be able to participate.

The meeting will have 5 modalities of participation, expo-sale formats, through exhibition areas by municipalities and others by specialized pavilions.

According to Isabel Hamze Díaz, secretary of the Organizing Committee, at the Fair the municipalities will show their experiences in local development with a view to solving the most pressing problems of the neighborhoods.

According to this newspaper, the economic actors that will be present at Expocuba from Monday onwards have been summoned by the municipal Local Development Groups and the municipal governments, as pointed out by Luis Carlos Góngora Domínguez, vice president of the Fair's Organizing Committee.

Specialized services for exhibitors will be offered daily by Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S.A. (Etecsa), the National Tax Administration Office (Onat), notary offices, commercial registries, among other agencies and institutions.

 

The opening ceremony will take place on Monday morning at Expocuba's Central Pavilion, while in the afternoon, the launching of the participants' novelties will begin at the same venue.

The first day will feature the presentation of the non-agricultural cooperative Industrias Purita, the artisanal fruit and vegetable store Zumar and the gourmet products of businesses such as Duque Chocolatier and La Taberna del Duque.

The Fair will open to the public between 10 am and 4 pm with a collateral program that includes recreational and cultural activities, book presentations, concerts and gastronomic services, reports CAN.
