She was born in the city of Cárdenas, province of Matanzas, on October 9, 1912.

She was an outstanding pedagogue and also a great revolutionary fighter and a great Martiana. Precisely in the years of the fifties in the last century she was the manager of the creation in the country of what was called the Civic Front of Women of the Marti Centennial, an organization that also played an important role in the confrontation of the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista.

In addition to leading this front, she participated decisively in acts and demonstrations, in the distribution of revolutionary propaganda and collaborated with other fighters who were part of the 26th of July Movement and the Revolutionary Directorate.
