The XVIII Convention and International Fair of Informatics Havana 2022 ended this Friday after five days of work during which nine theoretic events were developed at Palacio de las Convenciones in the capital.

According to what Wilfredo González, President of the Organizing Committee expressed, the event constituted an example of the practice of the informatics´ dissemination policy of the country, which allows a wider space for technological and scientific promotion, training on digital culture, under the aim of reaching the economic development and the society´s satisfaction.

1134 delegates and expositors from 24 countries attended to the event, and the four special sessions scheduled -with high scientific-technical level experts both native and foreigners - were succesfully carried out, pointed out PL.

Wilfredo González, also deputy minister of Communications, praised the expostitions La formación de la administracion publica al electrónico centrado en el cuidadano, La digitalización como pilar fundamental en America Latina and La Inteligencia Artificial en la sociedad.

Likewise, the events of geomatics, electronic commerce and telecommunications stood out for the amount of activities realized, he pointed out.

The Enterprise Forum and the Exhibit Fair took place thanks to the support of Fevexpo, the first Cuban platform for virual meetings, to which 61 people attended in representation of the different economic actors.

The Covention, estimated González, is an example of the political will for moving forward, making progress, in a progressive and safe way, in the process of informatization of the society and in favor of the digital trasnformation.

He commented that Cuba empowers the decision of getting the Cuban people closer to new technologies, and the decision of establishing and developing the IT industry while taking leverage of the human talent in this field of knowledge.

In the closure act some state and non state- institutions were acknowleged and mentioned due to their contributions in solving problems and developing technologic devices.

It was opened the call for the XIX edition of the Fair to be celebrated in Palacio de las Convenciones and Pabexpo, between March 18 and 22,2024.
