It was an exclusivist sports organization, mainly grouping clubs belonging to the Cuban high aristocracy of the time, discriminating against the presence of the humble strata and people of the mestizo race.

After the triumph of the Revolution on February 23, 1961, the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) was founded, to promote sports throughout the Cuban territory.
