These are the legal provisions on Penal Execution and Penal Code, about which citizens will be able to send their opinions to two enabled e-mails, also with the purpose of "contributing to raise the legal culture of Cubans", reported the portal of the legislative body.

Recently, the president of the People's Supreme Court (TSP), Rubén Remigio Ferro, stated that "these are rules to defend the people, not only to punish criminal behavior, but they have a high educational and preventive vocation".

According to the published note, the Criminal Code Bill responds to the need of having an updated legislation that provides coverage to the new realities in this field of competence, which were not sufficiently regulated in the current Code.

Likewise, it expands the rights and guarantees of persons in accordance with constitutional principles and considers the decriminalization of certain figures, as well as the incorporation of sanctions that do not imply internment, thus reinforcing the educational nature of the law.

On the other hand, the draft Penal Execution Law is unprecedented in the country and strengthens the application of conciliatory methods, in order to achieve greater harmony in the solution of conflicts.

In the opinion of the president of the TSP, the new regulation assumes the most modern aspects in this field and appropriates concepts contained in international instruments and treaties to which Cuba is a party.
