Díaz-Canel celebrates start of the new school year in Cuba

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel celebrated today the start of the new school year for basic secondary, pre-university, technical and professional education, pedagogical training, as well as youth and adult education.

In his official Twitter account, the president said that the return to the classroom is an example of creative resistance in the face of adversity, after the control of the Covid-19 pandemic and the progress of the immunization process against that disease.

According to the Ministry of Education of the largest Antillean island, primary school students will start classes next March 14, in a school period that will last until November 19.

The educational process will be carried out with the application of curricular adaptations elaborated by researchers and teachers under the premise of not reducing contents or affecting the fulfillment of the objectives of the subjects, disciplines, grades and levels.

In December last year, more than one million Cuban children were immunized against Covid-19 with national vaccines, to become a pioneer country in introducing this action in its strategy to confront the pandemic.
