The efficient and fast acting of the officers of MININT, together with the people, allowed to quickly solve the robbery of six electric motorbikes. The investigation demonstrated they were part of a single chain of felony.

After the report made by one of the victims at the Police Station of Siboney, in the municipality of Playa, about the robbery of three electric motorbikes, Captain Lazaro Hernández Pedroso, police officer in charge of the investigation process, realized that the events had occurred under the same M.O, as it was detailed at the web site of MININT. ¨We gathered all the similar evidences we had from other events and looked for information that could demonstrate the relation between them and seek for clues that could get us to the criminals¨, explained the officer. At the same time, captain Ángel Luis Pérez Dangel, operative officer of the Technical Investigation Direction, learned about the information posted in social media about the sale of a vehicle similar to the stolen ones.  Then, officers from MININT, with the necessary warren, realized a search in the building where the citizen that posted the announcement lives and found one of the stolen motorbikes and some spare parts and pieces from the other two.

The missing pieces of the motorbikes were found in two other vehicles that were circulating under the license of an individual who had been previously in contact with the previous suspect. The other motorbikes were found in the house of another citizen linked to the other suspects in custody. The victims thanked the fast acting of the officers of MININT. The investigative process demonstrated the participation of four individuals: two of them carried out the robbery and the other two were the receptors of the stolen vehicles. The robbers used to act during midnight, breaking into the garages or in houses, and stole the electric motorbikes. The crime is defined in the article 328 of the Criminal Code as Robbery with force and it’s the second largest recorded, surpassed by the figures of thefts.
