Leaders of the base organizations of the Union of Communists Youth of Plaza de la Revolución exchanged ideas about topics included in the Family Code Project of Law.

The document, on a popular consultation process right now is a transversal guide of equality, justice and condemn to any act of violence within the family nuclei, in order to guarantee the respect of every single member´s rights regardless of race, sexual preference, creed and ideology.

Leonardo Rodríguez González, first secretary of the Union of Communist Youth in Plaza de la Revolución, pointed out that understanding the new Code is the best way to make a coherent analysis and to add criteria for enhancing it, due to the text embraces an important amount of elements and concepts that we should learn more about them for our future and the defense of what we consider it is right.

He added that the document is a visible acknowledgement of the diversity inside the family existent in the country and this is the moment when voting should be made with a high sense of consciousness because this Code also represents boys and girls and their future generation and so that, the indexes included in the law project must reflect inclusion and respect.

Alejandro Redondo, member of the Ministry of Justice who explained the most polemic topics in the 11 titles inside the body of law, among them issues related to the new ways of parenthood, filiation and marriage that are being stablished from the experiences gathered from the reality of Cubans ‘life, evaluated the Code as vanguard.

Helen Camacho Solís, representative of the national direction of the CDR (Comité de Defensa de la Revolucion, Revolutionary Committee of Defense) manifested some opinions emerged at the popular consultation, as how to better implement new ways for making more accessible for the comprehension of the topics discussed in the project of law and how could a communist young leader be of help to the community in this sense.

The consultation process will go on throughout the country until April 30 in about 78 000 discussion spots or meeting spots, in which the population will be able to express their opinions and proposals, so that every Cuban and the families they represent find themselves identified in the chapters included in the Code.
