The meeting for the opinion poll on the Project of the Families Code, was carried out in the point 2 of the district 107 in La Habana del Este, where neighbors recognized the value of the proposal and opinions about some aspects.

The topic regarding families’ relationships was notable, among others. Those relationships are not only blood relationships but are also based on empathy and affectivity.

A Family Code, advanced for its time, was approved in1975 but according to the specialist, intra-family relations have evolved, so a legal protection is needed, which is shown in the number 24 version of this draft bill.   

So, legal protection is given to the different kind of families that are recognized in the project, and legal authority is also given to legal institutions that intervene in possible legal disputes to solve problems that could emerge.     

After the analysis done by the population, which should conclude next April 30th, a referendum will be hold, before it is approved by the Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular.

The previously mentioned opinion poll is carried out in the capital satisfactorily. It is done with the voters in the districts of the Poder Popular, since last February 1st.

The population expresses its criteria freely in each meeting, they propose changes, additions or eliminations.
