The call to take part in the first edition of the contest “Mi Fidel” was announced           by the Centro Fidel Castro, in its library Sierra Maestra. The purpose of the contest is to motivate the knowledge about the ideas, work and example of life of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

According to the news published in the official website of the Centro Fidel Castro Ruz, Children, teenagers, and young people can take part in the contest organized by Centro Fidel Castro Ruz, in the categories of drawing, literature or photography. Contestants will use these expressions to show the love and admiration they feel about the life and work of the eternal Commander.     

The call was open this February 24th to honor a memorable fact of Cuban History: the restart of the fight for the independence in 1895.

Drawing: a single draw or painting will be accepted in the contest. Any kind of material and technique will be recognized.

The closing date for this expression is in March 30 and the results will be released in April 19, as part of the activities to commemorate the 61 anniversary of the Victory in Giron.

On the other hand, we have Literature: the contest accepts genres such as poetry, story and epistolary. Three works are accepted per author, in the same or different literary genres.   

The closing date for this expression is in July 1st and the winners will be known in August 13 th, on Fidel´s 96 birthdays.

Photography: It will be the last to end the closing date, in October 31st. Each student can participate presenting an individual image or a series of pictures (from 3 to 5) with a kind of relation among them. The prizes will be awarded on November 25th to honor the sixth anniversary of our eternal leader´s death.

All the Works should include: title, author´s full name, identity number, address, age, phone number, and / or e mail. 

The note explains that the panel of judges will give a Grand Prize in each level (separated in ages), besides the mentions it decides.

The Centro Fidel Castro Ruz was opened on November 25th 2021, it is a public institution, in charge of preserving, study and spread the work and ideas of the Commander in Chief.

The Museum is located in El Vedado, in the municipality of Plaza de La Revolución, in a mansion that belongs to the XIX century, with great patrimonial value. It includes exhibition rooms, libraries, meeting halls, galleries, a lecture hall, bookshops, a printers and a huge garden.
