All over the country, the process of granting the enrollment of children to kindergartens is being carried out according to existing capacities in these educational centers, taking into account that next March the new school year will begin, informed to Gramma Master in Educational Sciences María de los Angeles Gallo Sánchez, national director of early childhood of the Ministry of Education.

She pointed out that these enrollments are being granted on the basis of priorities among more than 56 000 pending applications. She explained that on days 7 and 8 will be published the lists with the names of the children who were granted with kindergarten. This will be done in all of the nation´s municipalities except in Las Tunas and in the municipalities of Cienfuegos and Holguin, where the available capacities have been already granted.

From March 9 to 11 will be held the group pass, and on the 14th the children will begin the school year with which closes the process of granting the capacities for kindergarten.

She specified that any complaint should be addressed to the corresponding municipal directorate of Education. She said that currently the country has 1806 kindergartens, which is a social achievement of the Revolution that was always under the caring watch of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the president of the Federation of Cuban Women, Vilma Espín Guillois and our revolutionary government.

The professional stressed out that a total of 141 690 children are enrolled in these institutions in which the indispensable biosecurity measures are applied.

Investments do not stop

Gallo Sánchez said that for the Education sector, repairs, maintenance and investments in kindergartens are a priority, a subject that is being systematically checkup.

She said that until 2030, 29 municipalities that only have one kindergarten in the territory, will be monitored, referring to a future projection that these territories will have a second institution of this type.

She pointed out that last year institutions were repaired and maintained throughout the island. In the case of investments, work was carried out in 10 kindergartens.

For 2022 it is planned to carry out maintenance and repairs in 179 kindergartens and to conclude the work that was pending from last year.
