Extra Cashier Service extended in Establishments in Havana.

The Extra Cashier Service which started it implementation on September last year, is being used in 180 establishments in Havana, distributed in all the municipalities, according to information provided by directives for the Banco Metropolitano.

Yelegny Fernández Castro, general director of the Electronic Banking of the entity, explained that, due to the diminish of the ATM availability in the city, the service allows cash extraction in commerce units such as markets and bodegas and it is forwarded to be extended to Post Offices and Drugstores.

She detailed that the service has been prioritized in the municipalities of La Lisa, Cotorro, San Miguel del Padrón, Regla and Guanabacoa due to these municipalities have presented the most problems in the ATM service.

People can reach related information through the Telegram channel of Banco Metropolitano or through Telephone Banking in order to know where the closest facility offering the Extra Cashier Service is.

Fernández Castro referred that, after formalizing the contracts between the Bank and the entity to which the establishment providing the service (denominated non-banking correspondent agent) is subordinated to, it is provided the chance of money extraction up to 1000 Cuban pesos a day to natural people.

The cash delivered to customers comes from incomes of the daily sales of the establishments, therefore, the Banks do not anticipate cash to non-bank correspondents.

This activity will allow people to make money extraction in the closest establishment destined to this purposes whenever the establishment count on enough cash to this aim. The extraction will be done through the electronic platform Transfermovil (in the Extra Cashier option) or Enzona (Cash extraction).

33 of more than the 500 ATM in Havana are off service and 75 are kept out of service due to the lack of spear gear, fact that it is pretended to be reverted through a recovering strategy with the national industry.
