This Sunday arrived to Havana the floating platform with energy technologies, contracted by Cuba in Turkey to improve the power generation capacities of the country

The Minister of Energy and Mining, Liván Arronte, authorities of the Electric Union and the port maritime administration were present at the mooring of the floating plant, which belongs to the Istanbul Energy Group, a world leader in this type of electricity generation.

The unit, as well as other three placed on the vicinities of Máximo Gómez Báez thermoelectric power plant of Mariel, in Artemisa, constitutes the first project developed by the Turkish company in Latin America.

Arronte, head of the portfolio, pointed out that this will allow the maintenance of other thermoelectric plants of the national reserve and will substitute diesel, one of the most expensive fuels in generation.
