The opening act of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center will be carried out this Friday, date on which Cubans commemorate the fifth anniversary of the death of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.

The Law 123, approved by the National Assembly of the People´s Power on December 27th, 2016, ¨about the use of the name and figure of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz¨, was countersigned, under exceptional character, in order to approve the creation of an institution named after the leader´s name, destined to the study and dissemination of his thought and work.  

The inauguration that will be the main activity honoring the date, will be carried out in the Turquino amphitheater of the same institution, located in the municipality of Plaza de la Revolución, with the stage of a play created for this special occasion by the Compañia de Teatro Infantil La Colmenita.

The act will be broadcast on a deferred basis at the end of the National Television News broadcast, on Cubavisión, Cubavisión Internacional, Caribe Channel, Radio Rebelde and Radio Habana Cuba, through Mesa Redonda and the Presidency´s YouTube channels and through the Mesa Redonda, Cubadebate and the Presidency´s Facebook channels.
