17 new positive identified cases of Covid- 19 are from La Habana

Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, November 20th, stated that, 330 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 960 802 from the beginning of the outbreak on March 11th ,2020.

To date, 8295 deaths by coronavirus (2 belong to the day) have been reported, and 1392 active cases of which 1350 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 351(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 951 058(98.9%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 4781 patients remain in hospital admission, 3185 suspicious and 204 under medical surveillance.

The incidence rate is still decreasing in all the municipalities in Havana. 17 cases were identified, all of them native. All the municipalities reported cases.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros, Arroyo Naranjo and Cerro(2),Habana del Este, Diez de Octubre,Centro Habana, Playa,Guanabacoa, La Lisa, Plaza de la Revolución, Marianao, Regla, San Miguel del Padrón and  Cotorro(1).

20 167 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 330 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 929 480 analyzed samples of which 960 802 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,327 people were contacts of confirmed cases,2 with source of infection from abroad and 1 with unknown source of infection.

There were 328 native cases this Saturday and 2 imported of which 176 female and 154 male cases.

42 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 16 critical and 26 seriously ill. 

This Saturday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 12.7%(42), for a total of 132 310, which represents a 13.8% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 330 confirmed cases, 65 were under 20 years of age; 78 between 20 and 39; 105 between 40 and 59 and 82, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in November 20th, 2021 is 0.87% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.01% for the world and the 2.43 % for the Americas region.
