The current building of the train terminal is inaugurated.

With a peculiar architectural structure, of sober and stylized lines, the building copies elements of the Spanish Renaissance. It consists of four floors topped on both sides by two towers that rise 38 meters above street level, built of steel and reinforced concrete and decorated with terracotta and tiles. On the first floor is the waiting room, decorated with marble-covered columns. The platform consists of double roofs over the platforms, with access to tracks for passenger trains. Cuba was the first country in Latin America and the sixth in the world to have a railroad. The first train trip in Cuba took place on November 19, 1837 on a stretch of just over 27 kilometers between Havana and the town of Bejucal.
