As of this November 19th works of the renown plastic artist Flora Fong will be exhibited for the delight of the public in the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas (National Museum of Decorative Arts), as part of the show Nasobuqueña Tropical.

According to information provided by this cultural institution, the exhibit is a claim for attention that put into context the prevention against the coronavirus outbreak in a visual speech that embraces optimism and love.

¨Flora delivers a highly- sensitive female speech that tributes homage to Cuban and foreign women, protagonists of these difficult times¨, highlights the note. 

Cubarte web site referrers, meanwhile, that the curator project proposes a deployment of around 13 medium and high format paintings in a discursive interaction with the XVII century-manufactured china belonging to the Museum´s thesaurus known as La dama del parasol (The lady with the Parasol).

Taking into account its content, Flora´s work on canvas re-contextualizes the use of face masks for the prevention of the Covid-19 outbreak and, at the same time, represents elements of Cuban identity.

The exposition homages women as protagonists of this harsh times while sending a love and optimism message on which states that we must learn to live under these new conditions, holding our best values and practices.

It is worth highlighting that the show will be available until the first quarter of 2022 and that will be inserted into the activities programmed for the XIV Biennale of Havana.

It also pretends to commemorate the anniversary of the foundation of the Popular Republic of China and the foundation of the Villa San Cristóbal de la Habana.
