Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, November 7th, stated that, 471(12-) new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 956 452.

To date, 8265 deaths by coronavirus (3 belong to the day) have been reported, and 2686 active cases of which 2612(97.2%) with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 423(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 945 444(98.8%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 8608 patients remain in hospital admission, 4878 suspicious and 1044 under medical surveillance.

The incidence rate has decreased in all the municipalities in Havana to 302(14,1%)compared to the 433(20.3%)reported during week 43, placing the capital in thirtieth place.

On week 44 5 people died in the province due to Covid-19, the 22.2% of the tests were run in the province for a positivity of 2.5%, lower than the national average of 2.7%. With this results Havana is in the eighth place in the country.

This November 7th there were 29 positive cases reported, all of them native. The decrease of positive cases in all the municipalities of the capital is becoming a trend. There were cases reported in most of the municipalities with the exception of Regla.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Habana del Este and Guanabacoa(4), La Lisa(3), Cerro(3), Playa,  Diez de Octubre, Arroyo Naranjo, Centro Habana , Plaza de la Revolución, Cotorro(2), Marianao, San Miguel del Padrón, Boyeros and Habana Vieja(1).

18 886 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 471 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 687 109 analyzed samples of which 956 452 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,458 people were contacts of confirmed cases,11 with source of infection from abroad and 2 with unknown source of infection.

There were 460 native cases this Sunday and 11 imported of which 263 female and 208 male cases.

74 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 20 critical and 54 seriously ill. 

This Sunday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 17%(80), for a total of 131 651, which represents a 13.8% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 471 confirmed cases, 73 were under 20 years of age; 104 between 20 and 39; 154 between 40 and 59 and 140, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in November 7th, 2021 is 0.86% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.02% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
