Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, in a press conference, at the end of yesterday, November 5th, stated that, 550 new positive cases were confirmed for a total of 955 498.

To date, 8261 deaths by coronavirus (4 belong to the day) have been reported, and 2767 active cases of which 2694 with a stable clinical evolution; a total of 836(belonging to the day) patients were discharged from hospitals for a total of 944 413(98.8%) medical or epidemiological discharges. 9181 patients remain in hospital admission, 5388 suspicious and 1026 under medical surveillance.

The incidence rate has decreased in all the municipalities in Havana in the last 15 days.

The most affected municipalities in Habana were Boyeros and La Lisa(5),Habana del Este and Guanabacoa(4), Cerro and Playa(3),  Diez de Octubre, Arroyo Naranjo, Centro Habana , Plaza de la Revolución, Marianao, Cotorro, San Miguel del Padrón, Habana Vieja and  Regla (2).

22 567 tests were studied for Covid- 19, 550 were positive samples, whether with PCR or by antigen. The country accumulates 10 646 528 analyzed samples of which 955 498 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases,540 people were contacts of confirmed cases,4 with source of infection from abroad and 6 with unknown source of infection.

There were 546 native cases this Friday and 4 imported of which 299 female and 251 male cases.

73 diagnosed patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit, of them 50 critical and 19 seriously ill. 

This Friday the amount of asymptomatic cases decreased to 13.2%(73), for a total of 131 487, which represents a 13.7% of the confirmed cases to the date.

Of the 550 confirmed cases, 93 were under 20 years of age; 134 between 20 and 39; 179 between 40 and 59 and 144, over 60.

The death rate for Covid -19 in Cuba, in November 5th, 2021 is 0.86% per million inhabitants which is lower than the 2.02% for the world and the 2.45 % for the Americas region.
