52 of the 633 new Covid-19 positives in Cuba have been identified in Havana

Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, informed at a press conference that at the end of yesterday, October 31, 633 new positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed, for a total of 952,634.

According to the information published on the official website of the MINSAP, 11,425 cases remain in the country; 6,127 are suspected and 1,624 are under surveillance.

To date, 8,240 deaths have been reported (4 per day), 844 medical discharges (per day), accumulating 940,663 patients recovered (98.8%). A total of 3,674 active cases were confirmed, of which 3,578 with stable clinical evolution.

Francisco Durán reported that, in week 43, closing on October 30, the capital decreased its incidence rate and remained in the thirteenth place in the country.

At the same stage, 37,717 tests were performed in the province, which represents 23.5% of the total and reports a positivity of 1.2%, which keeps it in the thirteenth position, an indicator below the 3.9% of national positivity.

During the day, 52 cases were identified, of which 49 were autochthonous and 3 imported. Cases were identified in the following municipalities:

- Arroyo Naranjo - 3

- Boyeros - 6

- Centro Habana - 3

- Cerro - 6

- Diez de Octubre - 2

- Guanabacoa - 5

- East Havana - 6

- Old Havana - 3

- La Lisa - 4

- Marianao - 3

- Plaza de la Revolución - 2

- BeachPlaya - 5

-Regla - 2

- San Miguel del Padrón - 2

For COVID-19, 20,856 samples were studied, resulting in 633 positive samples, between PCR and antigen. The country accumulated 10 million 541,921 samples and 952,634 were positive.

Of the confirmed cases, 623 were contacts of confirmed cases, 8 with a source of infection abroad, and 2 with an unspecified source.

The number of autochthonous cases this Sunday was 625 and 8 imported. There were 328 females and 305 males. 96 cases were in intensive care, of which 41 were critical and 55 serious.

Of the 633 positive cases, 10.5% (66) were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 131,105, which represents 13.8% of those confirmed to date.

The 633 diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age, 94; from 20 to 39, 157; from 40 to 59 years of age, 226; and from 60 and over, 176 cases.

As of October 31, Cuba reports a lethality rate of 0.86% of Covid-19 per million inhabitants, lower than the 2.03% in the world and 2.45% in the Americas.
